(S.9) English IV, Post 8 [FINAL], "English Language challenges"

My university experience with English began the second semester of 2020 with English II. I was a little concerned with the guidelines and planning of the course, since my Achilles heel are listening skills. I realized I could understand a large part of the class, and I said to myself, “look Yanko, you handle yourself in English”. At that momento, I became more confident and it helped me to enhance my English skills.

The experience in the development of the English courses are excellent. Each of the teachers were very concerned about their students, how we were doing and how to find new strategies to improve our English. And these small details, one as a student fully appreciates them.

The time passed and I was coursing English III where I had my first approach with these interesting blogs. These blogs helped me a lot to improve my writing, vocabulary and learning the linguistic rules of the language. And English IV was where these skills were further enhanced.

Now, making a self-criticism about my English, I find that I must improve and challenge myself to speak the language In order to have the proper use of grammar and the experience of being able to use the language without hesitation.

Looking for strategies to be able to progress in my development of English is creating instances of dialogue with peers or native English friends that I have from school in order to generate more closeness to a real conversation in the language.

Lately, I use English partially and every day in different recreational situations, like when I listen to music I try to work on my listening skills as I do the same when I watch international news like BBBC News or FOX news.

(S.9) English IV, Post 6, "Time Travel to the future"

Traveling is fun for us when we go on vacation or visit a friend. But, if instead of taking a Sunday trip, we make a journey to the future, It would be surprising, but at the same time terrifying.

I would travel a couple of centuries and if I have the time a couple of millennia around the world. My first stop would be in each of my family's homes, to verify if they are well and to be able to safeguard all their decisions so that nothing ever happens to them.

To finish this family visit, I´d make sure to memorized all the key patterns for a healthy life with many years for each of them.

I will take my bags and go to the host countries of the next 100 soccer W
orld Cups to see if Chile is champion. And to be able to say, we made it, finally, Chile is a champion.

Finishing my trip, I would take my bags and my third stop would have to be each of the developed countries and leaders in the direction of the planet.

At this stop, I would take my time collecting information, data and analysis on each of the decisions made by neighboring nations and the world elite.

Today, being Monday December 13 at 5:00 p.m. of the year 2500 my work as a traveller ends and I decide to return to the present year, 2021. You will tell me why I do not stay in the future, and the answer is simple, I must live my present and I must “above all” ensure that the course of the years on Planet Earth are based on correct decisions to avoid the problems that I saw in the future.

I will not tell you about human life at that time, but yes, that the future is hopeful.

(S.9) English IV, Post 5, "My future job"

When we ask ourselves about our future job can sometimes concern/upset us, but it also brings us hope of being able to perform as a professional with integrity and humble towards society.

When I project myself towards the world of work, I would like to work in the clinical pharmacy area. I imagine myself contributing a grain of sand every day to those critical patients who do not see a way out in their treatment, infecting them with energy and hope to get ahead, both themselves and their families.

I envision myself working both in and out of my comfort zone. Working both within the medical center as well as in the field, constantly working with gonverment facilities, regional projects and with pharmacological clinical trials to find new paths for diseases that still do not see a concrete future with respect to their treatment.

If God and life allow me, I would love to be able to travel to improve myself as a professional, nourish myself with culture and values, to put them into practice in our country. Positioning Chile with the highest standards in the pharmaceutical area, going hand in hand with projects at the international forefront.

When we talk about salary, I would like to have a stable salary in line with my area of work. If there is the possibility of undertaking and generating new economic routes, they will always be welcome.

It should be noted that you should NEVER prioritize money over everything. Always rescue and put into practice the values instilled by our parents.
